I actually had two favorite classes this semester: My Broadcast Production course and my intro to writing course.1
1) Broadcasting class i enjoyed very much because I was able to pick my own films that I enjoyed very much and use what I learned in class like different camera shots and write my own discussion posts based off these. I really enjoyed it because i was able to learn how scripts were made and even able to write my own scripts and story boards .
2) Intro to media- I really enjoyed this course because I was reading more interesting articles, I even made a twitter and I never thought I would make a twitter. I honestly really enjoyed the course the work I had to felt more like fun than actual work.
This semester overall to me was actually good I worked harder I did not procrastinate and I made sure I was on top of all my work. I can honestly say this was one of my better semesters.
Two productivity apps that have really come in handy would be :
Google Drive- This allows users to save all their files into this drive through their gmail. This app has come in handy because their have been many times when i had to clear up space but with google drive i was able to transfer files to google drive.
Google Keep- This app allows users to be able organize their note-taking This app is free of use. Google keep allows the user to be able each of their notes and have their saved file . Those using the app can travel with app and always be able to review their notes when ready.
A sadly trending story would be on
the death of the rapper Nipsey Hussle . Nipsey Hussle real name was Ermias Joseph Asghedom. He was raised
in Slauson California. He was a musician who wrote bout his environment and the many
obstacles he been through and was able to deliver his emotions through the
music. Nipsey Hussle last project “ Victory Lap” was Grammy nominated. Nipsey Hussle was a man
who wanted to uplift his community and help
bring up the people around him.
Nipsey Hussle death impacted
millions of people from different parts of the world. An important place where Nipsey
Hussle had a great impact was in his own city.
His impact insipired a unity meeting between LA gangs. An article on the blog

wrote ‘As a show of his leadership and a
tribute to his memory, LA’s street gangs organized a unity meeting to show
solidarity with one another and Nipsey’s philosophy of non-violence and
community building” . His impact also had a huge impact on different artists.
Many artist posted Nipsey Hussle and shared many memories of how he was able to
impact their lives.
Another blog that I read also wrote about Nipsey Hussle had a impact on his community and even some of Los Angeles basketball players , the article https://clipperholics.com/2019/04/02/la-clippers-nipsey-hussle-and-his-impact-on-the-los-angeles-community/ wrote , “It is apparent that Nipsey Hussle was a positive light that illuminated a dark abyss in today’s world. He used his platform for spreading unity within Los Angeles. He continually preached a message that will forever be engraved in stone.”. Before Nipsey Hussle death he was suppose to speak with LAPD to discuss a meeting on gang violence. Nipsey death shocked the world. He was a man that stood for peace his death is tragic and affected many people around the world.
Diddy shares a memory of him of him and Kim Porter who sadly passed away. Diddy who i cant imagine must be going through alot. I think this is very strong of him to be able to post a memory as he remembers her.

Cyber bullying is the use of bullying through the use of social media. Cyber bullying can occur through the use of social media to attack and used to send hurtful messages to any individual. Cyber-bullying is very serious and can cause emotional harm to those who are going through this. Cyber bullying can also push an individual to cause physical harm to themselves. An example of how bad cyber bullying can be if not put to a stop right away would be the tragic death of Megan Meier who committed suicide because of cyber-bullying.
Megan Meier was born on November 6,
1992 . She was a girl who loved enjoyed swimming
, fishing, she also was on the volley ball team. Megan attended Immaculate Conception, in
Dardenne Prairie, Missouri. Megan battled depression and had an attention
deficit disorder. Megan battling depression at such a young age must have been
very hard for her. Her life took to a
sad turn once a boy by the name of Josh added her as a friend on Myspace. Myspace
was a very popular the moment back then and was used how Facebook was used.
Which was a way contacting individuals from different parts of the world. As a result Megan life changed because of this
friend request.
A source writes, “ Even though she had never met him, she begged her mother to allow her add him as a friend. For the next six weeks Megan and Josh – under Tina’s watchful eye – became acquainted in the virtual world of Myspace”. Megan’s mother who was very cautious and wanted to keep her daughter out of harms way kept a close eye on what her daughter was doing on Myspace. Once Megan Meier was able to add Josh on Myspace. She would rush home to talk with him after school. Megan had problems with her weight and also her own self confidence or self esteem was getting attention from a boy by the named of Josh. A source writes, “ Megan had a lifelong struggle with weight and self-esteem, and now she finally had a boy who she thought really thought she was pretty.”. Then events took a turn for the worst when Josh suddenly began messaging her Megan and became very mean. People on Myspace Began calling her names while Josh was being to her . Megan then ran away from her computer and went upstairs. Then some time later Megan’s sadly found out her daughter killed herself. Then later on it turned out there was no “ Josh” .Instead the person doing the cyber-bullying was actually created by adults. The last words that was sent to Megan which were believed to what drove her to tragically end her own life was , “ You are a bad person and everybody hates you. Have a shitty rest of your life. The world would be a better place without you.”. These in my opinion were very mean words and should not ever be sent to anyone. As a result of these events Megan lost her life three weeks before her fourteenth birthday.
The cyberbullying caused her to
take her own life because of the harmful words that’s were being said about
her. Megan’s mom became aware of what
was being said over myspace and demanded her daughter to sign off. Megan told her daughter to sign off her father in a
source says , “ She told me that some kids were saying horrible stuff about her
and she didn’t understand why. I told her it’s OK. I told her that they
obviously don’t know her. And that it would be fine.” To better address cyberbullying I believe
everyone should be mindful of what is being said and how it can affect someone’s
life. However they were legal action that took place because
of this cyberbullying. The legal action that took place was, “ the jury found
Ms. Drew guilty of accessing a computer without authorization on three
occasions, a reference to the fraudulent postings on MySpace in the name of
Josh Evans.” A source writes. After all this tragic event took a place there
was a law that was passed in her name . This law is titled, “ Megan Meier
Cyberbullying Prevention Act – Amends the federal criminal code to impose
criminal penalties on anyone who transmits in interstate or foreign commerce a
communication intended to coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial
emotional distress to another person, using electronic means to support severe”.
This law was passed as step to help prevent cyberbullying and put it a stop to
it all together.
Tyler Clementi family started a
foundation after his death due to cyberbullying
. This foundation was built to help speak on bullying. Also to bring
people together to hep combat cyberbullying. , Dan Savage and his husband,
Terry Miller, started It Gets Better, this organization was created because of individuals
who were killing themselves because they were being bullied because they were gay or perceived
as being gay. This two organization both were made to help and bring awareness
to stop all bullying .
The tragic events of what happened to Megan Meier was and still very much sad and heart breaking. Megan’s parents lost a daughter due to cyber-bullying. Cyber-bullying needs to be stopped. There are many people who are going through this alone and we should all lend a helping hand to help stop all kinds of bullying altogether.
